Lamborn's Annointed One for EPC... Not Pro-Life and Not Pro Gun... HOLY contradictions Batman!!

In 2006, Doug Lamborn all but endorsed a hit piece by his major campaign contributor depicting Jeff Crank and Lionel Rivera holding hands on a wedding cake.  His supporters doggedly defended the piece claiming that Jeff had supported a candidate who was a supporter of gay rights.  In their mind, this was akin to endorsing those policies.  In fact, it was Jeff’s employer who had endorsed the candidate; and because of his position, Jeff was in the news talking about the corporate position. Condemned by  pastor and politicians alike, it showed how low certain people would go to achieve political power.

Oh how times change.

According to the Statesman, Doug Lamborn is endorsing a candidate for El Paso County Chair (Kay Rendleman) who supported, worked for, and contributed to a pro gay rights, pro abortion, anti gun candidate. The same slate is running a “co-chair” who shares her liberal views (Buddy Gilmore).

This demonstrates the hypocrisy of the Doug Lamborn wing of the party.  They present themselves as purist ideologues and call anyone who is not them a “RINO.”  Then, when faced with another humiliating defeat by the everyday foldk of the Party, the Lambornites run moderate candidates in hopes of protecting their own political hides??  I find it particularly hypocritical that ideological puritans such as Focus on the Family’s Tom Minnery, who defended Lamborn’s campaign tactics because he was the only “proven conservative,” now finds it expedient to endorse a socially liberal ticket.

Those misguided few tout “unity” and “bringing Republicans together.”  In fact, they are opportunists and populists bent on bamboozling the El Paso Count Central Committee in an attempt to make themselves relevant.  With actions like this, we don’t even know what they stand for.  Do they believe in their ideology, or do they just use it to get elected when convenient?

Either way, I doubt we will see Kay Rendleman’s image on a cake with another woman because of her support for a pro-gay candidate.
